  • Removed demo content from homepage
  • Reduced spacing around homepage portfolio section title
  • Reduced height by half and precisely centered all profile logo images
  • Created monochrome version of each profile image
  • Created new homepage portfolio strip with above image changes, with gray bg and flip effect to colorize logo (sorry no fade effect available yet).  This took an hour and a half to dial in all the settings to get those boxes to work properly!  These Visual Composer widgets are great, but can be very tricky to get working right.  The gray bg looks weird because I’d need high quality version of each logo on a transparent background to make that really work like the Squizz strip example.  So they’re white boxes for now.
  • Changed footer text to white, removed shadow effect from all text, changed layout to two widgets instead of three with middle one blank (since social media icons were removed)
  • Improved quality of strategy & investment focus top sliders with Tien’s new images, positioning adjustments of the text, and decreased opacity on the box behind the text
  • Rebuilt strategy page “Smart Growth Through Know How & Networks” section with Brandie’s new image and surround layout
  • Created Portfolio page with green strip w/ image, category selectors, orange mouseover effect.

12/8/2015 (afternoon)

  • Homepage portfolio converted to a wide strip.  All images link to /portfolio
  • Set #523092 (Logo Purple) as theme Base Color.  Affects links, various accents/highlights, etc.
  • Removed force h1/h2/h3 logo purple to allow the theme base color and defaults to do their thing more effectively.  I like the result.
  • Changed homepage testimonial to testimonial slider w/ ellie’s bg image
  • Attributed Broadstreet quote to actual CEO Richard Miley w/ photo
  • Made homepage section headers all caps

12/7/2015 (afternoon)

  • Changed login page image to logo (http://cepfunds.com/ceplogin)
  • Refined changelog design/layout for greater effectiveness
  • Experimented with some alternate menu config settings, no changes ultimately
  • Homepage:
    • Added additional example Quote
    • All text updated to latest emailed 12/7
    • New images added to Insurance/Finance Services laptop tabs
    • Laptop tabs object rebuilt from scratch to fix a problem with the tab names not updating in the editor (backend issue only)
    • Increased “We Get You Where You Want To Be” section title font size (to Medium)
  • Home Sliders:
    • 3rd slider header text updated
  • Fonts:
    • Changed all Serif fonts to PT Serif, all sans fonts to PT Sans Serif including menu/headers/content, applies to everything.
    • Manually adjusted homepage 3-sliders fonts to use PT
  • Strategy page:
    • Created based on PPT, dialed in settings.
    • Updated w/ latest text emailed 12/7
    • Image spacing at bottom adjusted depending on whether photo is boxed or has whitespace at the top

  • Menu
    • Added a white background to menu with 60% opacity to allow some of the slider image to bleed into it
    • Changed menu link color to black, purple (CEP Logo Purple #523092) on mouseover
  • Sliders
    • Removed “subline possible here” from 3 home sliders
    • Changed font for headlines on home slides #2 and #3 to match slide #1 (serif font, scales properly when shrinking browser)
    • Zoomed out the bridges background image on slide #2 slightly, but this is problematic
    • Checked centering of 3-button row below headline, no change, seems centered, but might need adjustments on different browsers / different browser sizes, needs more checking

      • Changed to CEP Logo Purple #523092. Forced CSS override for h1, h2 and h3 to #523092 (logo purple) but had to use !important to really force it and this will probably cause problems later.

      • Centering is still broken on Chrome vs. Firefox on these
    • Adjusted spacing on “Investment focus” button to better fit text (custom CSS)
    • Created new class “largeboldwhiteserif” for Revolution Slider large value proposition statements to flip them from sans-serif to serif (literally set to “serif” and browser decides which is best, rather than forcing Times New Roman)
  • Fonts:
    • Under WP Dashboard > Startuply > Typography:
    • Lato (sans-serif) for H1-H6 changed to Lora (serif)
    • PT Sans for content (unchanged)
    • Lato (sans-serif) for menu items (unchanged)
    • This may cause unexpected lines (particularly smaller ones which use H4-H6) to appear serif when expectation is sans.
    • We’ll need to evaluate as a group and figure out what needs to be changed in order to make smart decisions on what to manually override.
    • I thought the Content font should be changed to Lato (sans-serif) for consistency, and it’s a nice content font, but I tried it and it’s too light in some places, which explains why they chose PT Sans for that, it’s a little thicker.
  • Financial Services / Insurance Tab
    • Tabs spaced vertically slightly
    • Background color on first tab changed to dark purple
    • Background color on second tab changed to light purple, but was missing rounded corners since it normally is not colored, fixed that

Bugs To Fix

  • Menu height varies in Chrome vs. Firefox
  • Menu changes to dropdown mode prematurely (browser width still >1k with lots of room for the menu text, it’s way too early!  Probably due to hidden cart menu and space allocation for the right side login/register menu)
  • Logo fades out slightly when dropdown menu kicks in at smaller browser sizes.
